Hội thảo diễn ra từ ngày 2-7 tháng 11 năm 2019. Các thành viên của dự án đã nghe các bài trình bày khoa học về đa dạng, bảo tồn và phục hồi san hô; hoạt động của các khu bảo tồn biển ở Australia và các nước đông Nam á; chương trình reef check, green fin; khảo sát xã hội học và kinh tế về giá trị của hệ sinh thái...của các chuyên gia đến từ Australia và các nước Đông Nam Á.
TS. Kirsten đã trình bày các metaanalysis về ảnh hưởng của acid hóa đại dương và khảo sát nước đầu ở Hon Mun MPA. Các thành viên dự án cũng đã thống nhất cách lặn scuba để thu mẫu, các biểu mẫu khảo sát và phân tích số liệu.
Đây là một dự án quan trọng nghiên cứu về ảnh hưởng của công nghiệp lặn và acid hóa đại dương đến hệ sinh thái rạn san hô. Trong thời gian tới, các thành viên dự án từ Úc, Malaysia, Indonesia và Việt Nam sẽ tiến hành các cuộc khảo sát tại các nước sở tại.
In the framework of APN project CRRP2019-05MY-Benkendorff “Understanding the interaction of ocean acidification and marine tourism for sustainable management of coral reefs” , Dr. Dang Thuy Binh, with the staff of Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography and Nha Trang Bay Management Department, participated in the workshop at SCU University, Australia.
The workshop took place from 2-7 November 2019. Project members listened to scientific presentations on coral diversity, conservation and restoration; activities of marine protected areas in Australia and Southeast Asian countries; reef check program; Sociological and economic surveys on the value of ecosystems ... by experts from Australia and Southeast Asian countries.
Dr. Kirsten presented metaanalysis on the effects of ocean acidification and presurvey in Hon Mun MPA. Project members also agreed on scuba diving to collect samples, survey forms and analyze data.
This is an important project to study the impact of the diving industry and ocean acidification on coral reef ecosystems. In the near future, project members from Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam will conduct surveys in host countries.
